A Legacy Etched in Emerald
The visionary Sugan Chandji Chordia, our guiding light and the pioneer of our legacy, is fondly remembered as the torchbearer of the emerald industry.
His revolutionary concept of “Dharavat” (fixed pricing) transformed the way emeralds were traded — instilling fairness, transparency, and trust in the gemstone market.
Today, this legacy continues with unwavering pride and integrity under the stewardship of Shri Abhay Kumar Chordia, Mr. Avant Chordia, and Mr. Anant Chordia — who uphold his values and vision in every facet of The House of Chordia’s.
In 2007, His Highness Maharao Brij Singh Ji of Kota entrusted The House of Chordia’s with a prestigious commission — the design of the Kota Shield for the Best All Round House of the Mayoor School, Ajmer.
Crafted to reflect both regal elegance and intricate artistry, the shield posed a unique challenge. But with our mastery in silversmithing and an unwavering eye for detail, we brought this vision to life — a shield that still holds pride of place in our legacy.
Creating for royalty was an honour; earning His Highness’s trust was our true reward.
The Legacy of the Kota Shield.
